Filming Locations

Looking for the perfect location to film?

Auchlyne Estate offers a wide range of locations for filming and stills - from the "Big Hoose" with its walled garden to the tops of Munroes. It is ideally suited to host period filming in an unchanging Highland setting, from 17th though to the 20th Centuries.

We can offer diverse locations such as isolated derelict cottages & crofts, mountains, farms, agricultural buildings, forests and woodland, rivers and lochs, and moorland, as well as Highland Cattle and Red Deer, all within the Auchlyne & Suie Estate in rural West Perthshire.

Auchlyne House is a 3-storey listed 17th Century property which sits in an open landscape readily re-dressed to suit whatever period is required. The surrounding 18,000 acres of mountain scenery is both rugged and timeless.

The Estate owns three Munroes  (Ben More, Stob Binnein & Sgiath Chul), and a number of hill tracks which give access to loch and corrie locations which seem remote but are accessible for cast and crew. There is also a serviceable tarmac road with period stone bridges which can take the weight of filming traffic through the centre of the Estate.

Auchlyne features magnificent highland scenery within easy reach - trains connect with Glasgow and London from Crianlarich (10 miles) and by road, Glasgow is only 65 miles and the airport is 58 miles.

The local villages of Killin, Lochearnhead, and Callander have a wide array of accommodation to suit any crew or cast’s needs.
