on BBC Scotland
We were approached in July 2014 by Friel Kean Productions about being involved in a programme called "Lady Lairds". They wanted to film "the trials, tribulations and successes of four women over a year as they run their Scottish Highland estates...".
We thought that it would be a good opportunity to promote the Estate and our way of life and dispell some of the myths that surround Highland Estates.
Jules Kean & Chris MacMillian appeared throughout 2014 and 2015 and filmed many aspects of Estate and family life, starting with a family outing on the 12th August. They also filmed Emma and Nicola stalking red deer, selling Highland Cattle at Oban and sheep in Stirling, family dinner parties, the school run, Innishewan Farmhouse (our self-catering cottage), Henry fishing, Angus building log sheds and the children being chauferred around the hill in the Argo.
Some scenes filmed were left on the cutting room floor, with farming being the "focus" of Auchlyne's part in the programme, but this complemented the stalking and gardens at Attadale, the beer at Fyne Ales and the events at Traquair.
If you are interested in seeing our stunning scenery on film and some amazing aerial shots filmed with a drone (on a particularly beautiful sunny day in summer) you can contact Jules Kea at Friel Kean Production.
